The nine historic counties of Ulster — from the north coast to the border midlands.

Note: The Partition of Ireland, formalized in May 1921, divided Ulster between Northern Ireland and the Irish Free State (now the Republic of Ireland). Six counties — Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry, and Tyrone — became part of Northern Ireland. Three counties — Cavan, Donegal, and Monaghan — remained in the Republic of Ireland. County colours below indicate this modern distinction.
